Swearing In of Junio Councillors
On Thursday 23 May 2024, five schools (Hippo Valley High School, Melbourne Academy, Chiredzi Christian College, Chiredzi Government High School and South Eastern College) converged at Chiredzi Government High School for the Junior MP and Councillors for wards 1 to 8 elections. The theme for the day was inclined to the Day of the African Child commemoration 2024: “Education for all Children in Africa: the TIME IS NOW.” It was centred on His Excellency, Our President Comrade E.D. Mnangagwa’s vision that calls for inclusivity, leaving no one behind, including the disabled. The elections had started at school level on 17th of May 2024. Each school was represented by one contestant for each post
